Bulk-edit your Shopify catalog in Excel — safely

Editing a store catalog one product at a time doesn’t scale, and native export/import can’t handle metafields or update just a few rows without collateral damage. Ezyupdate exports your catalog to a spreadsheet you edit in Excel, then reimports it with confidence: only the rows you changed are updated, and everything else — including variants and options you didn’t mention — stays exactly as it was.

Coming soon to the Shopify App Store · 7-day free trial on both plans.

What makes Ezyupdate different

Exporting a catalog to Excel is table stakes — every bulk tool does it. These are the things that actually separate Ezyupdate from native Shopify import/export and from other bulk editors.

Safe partial updates
Most bulk tools — including Shopify’s own underlying API — silently delete variants or options that aren’t in a re-imported file. Ezyupdate fetches what already exists and merges your edits back in. Change 3 rows out of 3,000 and the other 2,997 are untouched.
Real metafield editing
Metafield columns aren’t exported just for reference. Edit the value in the spreadsheet, reimport, and the metafield actually changes on your store.
Metaobjects with zero setup
Point Ezyupdate at any custom metaobject type and the spreadsheet’s columns build themselves from that type’s field schema — no manual column mapping.
Per-row command control
MERGE, UPDATE, REPLACE, or DELETE — set the behaviour per row, not just per job, so one file can add, revise, and remove records in a single pass.

Why “only the rows you changed” matters

A re-import is where most bulk edits go wrong. When a file is treated as the complete truth, anything missing from it gets wiped. Ezyupdate treats a blank cell as “leave this alone,” not “delete it.”

  • Variants stay put: options and variants you never referenced aren’t dropped just because they weren’t in the file.
  • Existing data is merged: Ezyupdate fetches the current record first and applies your edits on top of it.
  • You choose per row: use MERGE for a light touch, or REPLACE and DELETE when you genuinely want to overwrite or remove.
  • Failures are legible: a per-row error report tells you which record failed and why, instead of a silent partial import.

Built for people who live in spreadsheets

Bulk export & import
Products, collections, customers, orders, and metaobjects — all round-trip through a plain Excel spreadsheet.
Scheduled jobs
Recurring exports and imports run on a schedule, so routine catalog updates happen without you starting them.
Per-row error reports
When a row fails, the report pinpoints exactly which one and why — no guessing across a 3,000-line file.

Pricing

Two plans — pick whichever fits, and switch later if it changes. Both include a 7-day free trial.

Ezyupdate Pro

$9.99 /month

Flat rate, unlimited records.

Best for: Merchants who run jobs often and want a predictable bill.

Ezyupdate Pay As You Go

$0.25 per 1,000 records

No flat fee, capped at $50/month.

Best for: Occasional use or smaller catalogs.

Who Ezyupdate is for
Shopify merchants whose catalog is large or complex enough that editing products one-by-one in the admin is impractical — multi-variant apparel and hardgoods sellers, merchants doing seasonal bulk price or inventory updates, and anyone migrating or cleaning up metafield data at scale.
